Do you know the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, but want more practice and to build something of your own?

Pink Programming presents an online JavaScript course with React.js. Teacher-led lessons will be combined with hands-on programming tasks—all to give you the best possible programming start.

Pink Programming’s summer coding camps are dearly loved among their participants and new friendships have been forged every summer for the past five years. We don’t want to pass on this despite this year’s theme of social distancing. We will offer online summer courses that are unlike anything you’ve seen before!

During the camp, we will mix things up with fun social activities like cook-alongs, yoga, and games. You will also meet female developers who will tell you about their journeys and be available to answer all of your questions.

About the camp

Memory, Minesweeper and Snake. This online camp will introduce you to React.js through all your favourite nostalgic games. Between coding lectures and mentors guiding you through your programming tasks, the camp offers morning yoga, dancing classes, cook-alongs and lots of activities to get to know each other while learning to code nostalgic games.

This course will introduce you to the React.js framework and further your knowledge in HTML, CSS and Javascript. React.js is used by most web development companies to build interactive web applications because of its useful features and easy adaptability. It is a highly sought after web skill and this course is a great introduction.

The pace of the course is intensive - the goal is to learn and program a whole lot - about 5 hours a day. We will fill your schedule from morning till evening, when you’re not programming you will be taking part in inspirational and fun activities. Our goal is to bring fun to programming and help you get to know your fellow female developers. Who knows, maybe you will be future colleagues?

    Antonina
    Head teacher

Antonina is originally from Ukraine, but has now lived in Sweden for 11 years. She got a master’s degree in Computer Science from Lund University in 2015 and has been working as a software engineer since then. She has done Android development as an intern at Google, worked as Java back-end developer with e-commerce and as a full-stack .NET developer in various web projects via Consid, a big Swedish IT consultancy company. She likes being versatile and learning new technologies all the time.

Now she is at a big consumer electronics company, where she works with distributed systems using Scala as the primary programming language. But she has of course also done quite a bit of React.js, both for work, but also as a hobby, and thinks that it is the best front-end framework!

Antonina is passionate about teaching and explaining. She has worked a lot as a teaching assistant in Lund, in parallel with her studies. She was head teacher at a Pink programming camp in C# last year and has also led multiple Sunday workshops.
